2 hour introduction to dogsledding in Sisimiut

The dogsled is an important part of Greenlandic culture, and for ages it was the only means of transportation during the winter months when the land was covered with ice and snow.

The tour goes to the foot of Niujarfik, a natural stop before the steep gradients northeast of Sisimiut, and before turning back you will have a short break and enjoy a hot drink.

This tour goes through a fairly even terrain, but still gives quite a good impression of what it’s like to ride a dogsled.
