This coldwater heaven

Whether you want surprising, colorful sea floors, strange Arctic marine creatures or the rush of tidal waters, it is all there, under the surface along the West Coast of the Destination Arctic Circle.

Catfish, lumpsuckers, forests of sugar tongs, and weird sea cucumbers compete for your attention in this crystal clear water.

And the wrekcs of both a prisonship and the three masted schooner Borgin are supreme visits where only a very few people have ever been.

Top all that off with a springtime iceberg dive for something different, surreal, and unique.

  • 1 day heliskiing from Sisimiut

    1 day heliskiing from Sisimiut

From Sisimiut we do one day trips to the alpine mountains northeast of town where a small glacier and a number of steep slopes are available. Or we can step things up a notch and head down to the rugged Itilleq mountains.

There’s a lot of sea to explore out there, and we would suggest going all in and seeing as much as possible while you’re already submerged anyway. Take advice from your tour operator and dive wrecks on the Arctic Circle close to the village Itilleq, head out for a fast paced underwater race with the tide in one of the fiord mouths around Sisimiut, or go on a longer expedition up North in search of icebergs to marvel at. You can also combine your dive trips with onshore activities, and you can minicruise down the coast from Sisimiut and dive locations both North and South of the Arctic Circle.
