Ice Climbing

Along the rim of the mighty Ice Cap huge walls of sheer ice rise up and offer spectacular opportunities for ice climbing.

Imagine that, climbing age old ice connected to the world’s second largest glacier while guided by a seasoned local with years of experience.

We provide all necessary ice climbing gear, and we have a limited amount of boots available for rental. You need to bring your own wind- and waterproof clothing, sunglasses, and gloves – and we also recommend bringing your own suitable, sturdy boots with laces.

Before we set off the gear is displayed and discussed and the guide then leads the group to the climbing wall. The guide also brings a first aid kit, gps, map, compas, and a sat phone for emergency use.

Safety is first for us, and before climbing we secure the wall against falling ice before preparing the safeties for the rapel to the bottom.

Experienced climbers can begin from the bottom, providing safety for each other on the way up.

Practical Stuff
Minimum group size is 2 people and the maximum is 6.
