The Arctic Circle Village
Itilleq is the Arctic Circle village, situated right on this magical Northern line, in an archipelago surrounded by steep, alpine mountains.
Out here the sea and the sky dominate, and the 120 people in the village live off hunting and fishing.
The locals love to invite guests to a friendly game of soccer on the field before serving up coffee, great stories of their community, and giving a grand tour of this small place.
Cruise ships and minicruisers stop by in the Summer while groups of heliskiers use the mountains around Itilleq for spectacular backcountry skiing in the deep Spring snow.

The Settlement ferry
The ferry services to all the coastal settlements in Destination Arctic Circle are maintained by different companies all working for the Royal Arctic Settlement Services, so check the updated schedules.

1 day heliskiing from Sisimiut
From Sisimiut we do one day trips to the alpine mountains northeast of town where a small glacier and a number of steep slopes are available. Or we can step things up a notch and head down to the rugged Itilleq mountains.
