Kaffemik with a local family

Whenever we celebrate something here in Greenland a kaffemik is the centrepiece of the day. A kaffemik roughly translates into “drop by our house at any given time during the day for coffee, cakes, food and cosy conversations”.

A kaffemik is all about sharing stories, all the latest local news, and meeting friends and family in a an intricate system where people circulate in and out of the often small houses, always leaving room for the latest arrivals, and never with the slightest air of formalities.

So this specific tour is a window into a culturally intimate setting where we visist the private home of a Greenlandic family, who will tell about their everyday life and family life – or any other subjects you may be interested to know more about.
