The Ice Cap and Kangerlussuaq sightseeing

When you visit Kangerlussuaq the Ice Cap is always there, looming in the background, waiting for a visit. And with the spectacular 4 wheel drive road that runs right up to the edge of the ice we can offer small groups of up to 4 people a chance to walk right up onto the world’s second largest glacier.

The drive itself will have you asking for photo stops as glacier tongues, raging rivers, and wide open vistas come into view – and with a bit of luck we’ll see musk oxen along the way as well.

But there’s more to Kangerlussuaq sightseeing than the Ice Cap. A large community of internation scientists use both the town itself and the nearby Kellyville as their base camp.

In Kellyville we will visit the science station while in Winter this is also a prime spot for vieweing the flickering Northern Lights and an incredibly starry night sky.

Other trips, for instance to the viewpoint at the top of Black Ridge, can be arranged. Get in touch with us and we’ll customize the experience for you.
