Wilderness angling with Major Hunting

Looking for angler’s paradise? Well, you might just have found it 30 miles south of Maniitsoq on the Qoqqut river where we have our fishing camp with two comfortable backcountry cabins.

We reach the river by boat, a 35 Targa passenger vessel that takes us there in an hour or less, and once we’re ashore it’s all about the charr and you.

This river has Arctic charr for everyone to go around, and in the clear, fastflowing waters you can spot 5 kilo beasts even before they bite out and challenge you to a tough fight.

When angling out here your group will have the river stretch all by yourself for a week, and when you’re not out fishing, the views from the base camp overlooking the fiord and the river system will probably keep your mind occupied before another day of world class angling.

The season runs from July 1 to September 30 and group sizes never exceed 6 people, which ensures that the river remains unspoiled and the fragile ecosystem has room to breathe, while you have all the space in the world to find that perfect spot.
